I’ve no experience with skid plates but I have a friend with a “hella slammed” my4 jetta that has had many O’Reilly’s oil pans because they have a warranty, ignore breaks, he just goes and gets another.

I heard that aluminum won’t protect you from bear attacks. Must be worthless.

I feel like the OIL would be seen as 710 if you stuck your head under the bumper. My spatial perspective is all messed up.

My neighbor broke her completely stock mk4 Jetta oil pan going over a speed bump. Low hanging aluminum pans are a dumb idea.

I think there was a steel version available as replacement.

Exactly, this guy busts pans driving down poorly maintained streets.

I would like to see a bear that can get under a Mini to attack this. Now the squirrels who like to build nests in the spot where the factory intake used to be might be an issue.

I have been looking for one for my r56 as well, not as much for the oil pan but more to make sure that the damn low hanging crossover radiator hose doesnt drag on the ground if the stupid clamp pops loose...

Not from Rennline, but I put an aluminum plate on my Ralliart that bolted to the original plastic protector mount points. It was very easy to do.

The funny thing is that I don’t take my car offroad but I might as well be. The amount of times that I hear scrape or BANG on the plate is ridiculous on California roads.
